What we keep
Short version: we keep what it takes to sell you an instrument and keep your licence working. No tracking, no ads, nothing sold. The rest of this page is the detail.

When you buy
Payment goes through Stripe. Stripe collects your card and billing details; we never see or store your card number. From Stripe we receive your name, your email address, what you bought, and the order number.
We use those to make your licence key, email it to you, send it again if you lose it, and answer you if something goes wrong. Stripe's own handling of your payment is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
When you activate
Each instrument checks in with our activation server once on each computer, when you type in your key. It sends:
- your licence key;
- a computer code: a one-way scramble of your computer's ID, so we can count your computers without knowing which computer it is;
- the name of your operating system (for example "Mac OS X 15").
We keep that next to your key, with the date, so your licence works on up to three computers and you can move it from one to another. After activation the instrument doesn't contact us again unless you deactivate it. The instruments have no tracking, no usage statistics, and no "phone home".
The website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived server logs (your IP address, browser, the page asked for) to keep the site running and safe. One typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for it; Google's terms cover that request. The demo players remember nothing about you. When you download a demo installer, our server adds one to that installer's daily count and keeps nothing else: not your address, not your browser.
We email you your licence key, keys you ask us to send again, and replies to your messages. That's all. There is no newsletter, and we won't add you to one.
Where it's kept, and for how long
Your licence record (name, email, products, computer codes) is kept on Cloudflare's servers in the United States, for as long as your licence exists, so we can always send your key again. Order records stay with Stripe as tax and accounting law requires. Support emails stay in our inbox.
Who else sees it
Only the services that do the work: Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (website, activation, email delivery). We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing.
Your say
Write to detonscience@gmail.com and we will send you what we keep about you, correct it, or delete it. If we delete your licence record, your instruments keep working on the computers already activated, but we can no longer send your key again or activate a new computer, so keep your key somewhere safe first.
Our products are not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep information about them.
Changes
If this changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date. If it changes in a way that matters to you, we'll say so by email.
